Threads That Bind is a segment from a broader series (‘Incidental’, 2024) that explores trans* identity in conjunction with love and loneliness. Threads That Bind specifically explores trans* desirability and how perception of our bodies, both introspectively and externally, can shape how a relationship comes to be. The images were physically punctured, depicting the various presentations of transitioning; then stitched back together, bound with red thread, symbolising the deep, vivid desire to be made whole– the tactility of the images’ surface allows for an exploration of the physical nature of a relationship, the touch associated with or necessary for   a successful one to be created.
